Scaling CVI for a Safer Chicago (SC2) requires a robust network of CVI experts, funders, business leaders, and public sector representatives working together under shared governance to advance an ambitious approach to reducing community violence.

SC2 is a shared strategy of the Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities (PSPC), a coalition of more than 50 foundations and other donors, the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago, the city’s premier business-led organization; CVI leaders Chicago CRED and Metropolitan Peace Initiatives and their community counterparts; and the public sector at the city, county, and state levels. A Steering Committee of their representatives oversees the initiative, including governance, fiscal and administrative oversight, execution, distribution of funds, evaluation, and regular reports to donors and other key stakeholders. The Chicago Community Trust is the financial adminstrative partner for SC2.
Metropolitan Peace Initiatives (MPI), a division of Metropolitan Family Services, convenes community-based and citywide organizations to help heal Chicago’s communities experiencing the highest levels of gun violence.
The Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities (PSPC) is a coalition of more than 50 foundations and funders, working together to identify and support community-led, evidence-based solutions that the public sector can scale as part of a comprehensive approach to addressing gun violence.
The Civic Committee works with business leaders, public officials, and other civic and community organizations on game-changing initiatives to promote the social and economic well-being of our region.
