Greater Garfield Park

Garfield Park is a vibrant community with engaged, resilient residents. Our neighborhood’s beauty shines through both its people and places—like the iconic Golden Dome and Garfield Park Conservatory. The spirit of our community is rooted in strength and deep connections that often span generations.

What does capacity-building
ACTUALLY look like?

The Greater Garfield Park SC2 team is partnering with residents and local stakeholders to support ongoing efforts toward a safer, healthier, and more connected community. As part of this work, we are gathering input directly from residents through surveys designed to better understand neighborhood experiences, priorities, and concerns. This feedback will help inform the development of the Garfield Park Safety Plan.

The team is currently canvassing throughout the Greater Garfield Park community, engaging residents through door-to-door outreach and in-person conversations. The goal is to create space for meaningful dialogue, strengthen relationships among neighbors, and encourage collective involvement in shaping the future of the community.

In addition to collecting feedback, we aim to support the formation and growth of block clubs, identify and uplift local leaders, and increase awareness of issues related to public health, wellness, and community safety. Through this process, we hope to build stronger connections and support community-driven solutions that reflect the needs and voices of residents.
